For efficiency and productivity in splicing procedures, Shaw Almex is pleased to offer the custom-built frame style press. With a rugged two-piece design, the RAB offers simplified assembly and reduced set-up time. RAB presses are well-suited for large, open sites and require access to an overhead crane for placement. Built with unmatched Almex technology, the RAB is constructed with the following proven components:
PLATENS: Each RAB press is constructed with Almex flexible platens that assume the shape of the conveyor surface during splicing. Platens are individually designed and include extruded plank, silicon heating elements (up to 163°C), and durable composite insulating packaging. Sturdy electrical connectors and moisture-proof latch enhance press durability.
WELDED FRAMES: With rugged, welded construction, upper and lower frames of RAB press are ideal for both field applications in severe mining environments and repetitive shop use. Fitted rings and brackets allow RAB to be positioned over splice areas by an overhead crane. Top and bottom frames connected by bolts that retract (reducing unconnected parts).
CONTROL PANEL: Engineered for use with T3 or T4 control panels (housed in rugged aluminum boxes), RAB can accommodate 230 to 600 volts. T4 can manage higher number of amps. Dual Omron digital temperature control and indication systems ensure accurate heat.
PRESSURE/COOLING: HPP20-4 pump and reservoir (75 litre, 3/4 HP motor) apply fluid-based pressure up to 14kg/cm2. Extra reservoirs for larger presses can be joined to the primary unit. Valving needed for quick cooling function can be easily added (HPPC20-4).
